Thought I'd start a thread on equipment and stuff.
Headroom www.headphone.com (retailer)
Ordinarily for the audiophile, but CAPD sufferers are not just audiophiles because our needs can be pretty specific. I especially love the idea of the Ultimate Ears UE-10 Pro which can be molded to fit your ear exactly.
Sennheiser www.sennheiser.com (manufacturer)
Cutting edge, premium listening equipment. They also offer high-quality lower end. Check out their audiology equipment in particular - www.sennheiser.com/sennheis...audiology .
Siemens www.hearing.siemens.de/00_en/...cts.jsp
Premium audiology equipment. Also very expensive. An audiologist I spoke to once said that filtering sound for CAPD isn't necessarily the best idea, because you increase you dependency on tools (and when you stop using them, your sensitivity goes up). Hence this is probably more of a last resort type thing, but it's still very alluring for me.
I had more links on filters but can't seem to find them right now.

Re: Helpful auditory equipment resources
Wed, October 5, 2005 - 6:15 PMThanks for the info Jones. There is a point to becoming dependent, but there has to be a balance somewhere. I mean eyeglasses we certainly become dependant on them once we wear them comfortably.
